Well it would seem that I have messed up somewhat with my blog! I have had a lovely couple of emails explaining to me that they an not comment on my posts! What have I done? I can not upload pictures and I can't get my beloved comments! Disaster! Can any body help me on this? Oh no, I just remembered, you can't leave a comment! Haha! What a giggle! Well anyway, thank you for your lovely emails and for letting me know! I think I have a poltergeist on my blog! Cheerio!

Wish Casting Wednesday

I am stumbling across some lovely new blogs and friends! Here is another gem. Jamie from starshyne productions has a lovely post called Wish Casting Wednesday and this weeks one is What do you wish to read? Well, I love books and trawl all over my dog ear pages to relight the rush of being swept up into a story, until you quite forget where you are and daydreaming and inspirations takes shape! I remember one book, (unfortunately not the title, but that just adds to the mystery! I think so anyway) that was lying around the house for ages, peeping at you while you are tidying up, just to be stuffed somewhere to make the place pleasant. Well, I have to admit, the cover put me off! I would not touch it! It just looked tacky and not my cup of tea at all, until one day I picked it up, sat down and didn't move until it was finished! I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Although that book was probably left behind, or sitting in a charity shop somewhere, it was one of the stories I remember because it kept my bum on the chair! It's a shame when I'm looking forward to a good read only to find I cant get into it! I was such a book cover snob! So the moral of the story kids.............................. Never judge a book by it's cover! What do you wish to read?

A wonderful surprise!

My word, what a week! I am feeling tons better, thanks for all the lovely thoughts and emails, they helped me loads! Well despite being unwell and my computer taking a life of its own, I am thinking of calling her Kit, I was spoiled rotten for my birthday! I got the most thoughtful cards and gifts, including a camera! Yea! (on reflection, I think I moaned about it a bit about one, I blame all your beautiful pictures on your blog) but unfortunately Kit is refusing to download pictures,(letting you know after twenty minutes of staring at the screen waiting) I think she is jealous of new camera. I will defeat this! The best part was today! I won a treat! I swear, I must have looked at the email about 30 times going "no, no, really, no!" ( God love whoever was looking in my window)
The wonderful Sarah, from Cottage Garden Studio, has drawn a beautiful piece art called Witchy Kitty and has made me smile from head to toe! I am soooooo happy! Thank you, Thank you Thank you! I really had a lovely day, but, I must continue my quest for uploading satisfaction, I must not fail! Hope you are all well, Ta rah!

I have just found a lovely blog that has cheered me up in my sickly state and thought I should pass it on! Irony

Well, my two weeks of adventure have been abruptly cut short. On Wednesday morning I woke up with the the worst sore throat ever, that no amount of tea would cure. I knew something was not right. When I looked in the mirror, my neck had all swollen out! Ekk! By Thursday I was in bed with a fever and aches and pains all over! Poor! So I have lived off a diet of paracetamol and fluids. Ahh well! The sad thing is, it's my birthday tomorrow! I think I will spend it in bed! Sniffle! Just as well I didn't have anything planned! Hope you are all feeling better than I am! Toodle pip!

It was a good day

Today was a beautiful day, so we decided to make the most of it and go for a walk and enjoy the sunshine.

We went to the lighthouse which is about fifteen minutes from where we live.

We love coming here, it is in a beautiful village which you walk through to get to.

we collected some stones for the fish tank, and watched the sun setting by the lighthouse

Then we went home.

We had the most wonderful surprise last night. We finally retired to bed and I looked out the window and look what I saw...........................................................

Once again my camera does not do these pictures any justice at all. It was beautiful. I ended up (in vain might I add) taking pictures trying to represent what I could see. I wanted to stay up longer to see if it got bigger as it set but I fell asleep. A very peaceful one it was too. Hope you are all well!

What did I do today?

I watch the sun kiss the moon goodbye,

and the kiss turned the sky ametheyst..........................................

and give my home a honeycombed glow as I basked....................................

I burned some incense for a change, smokey but nice...............................

I am caring for my plants through the cycle of the moon, so I am writing a journal of info in my beautiful notebook that my great friend Gilly bean sent from Austriala. It's called The Lover's Path Journal and it is exquiste. I wanted to use it for something special, and I am romantic in my own wee way, so I thought I could use it for my lunar planting. I can put cuttings in it and it is lovely to look at too.
I love to write, i find it has to be written down, it is like realising something, starting the ball rolling, if you know what I mean. I find if I write it down, I tend to do it.

Then I read some books. No interuptions, just me, a cup of coffee and books I love to slip through, giving me inspiration. I love days off.

We are going to need a bigger boat.

Unfortunately, despite our hardest efforts, three of the four goldfish, have already died. We are actually quite gutted about this, as we asked many shops for advice, and I have researched thoroughly on the Internet, but alas, in vain. All gone.......expect for one. This one is swimming about, very happy in his new space, and he even has red eyes and you don't mess with anything with red eyes! Here's hoping he's not just the last one to go. Personally, I think it could be the water. In my bath tub their is two unsightly looking watermarks along the bottom where the water drips from the taps and it is due to high copper content and are murder to get off. (Tip of the day, add add bio of soda an half cream of tartar. Rub well into stain, and only if necessary, lightly use a pumice stone. And tighten your taps!). So it looks like we have to get a filter, which is a bummer as i needed dirty fish water for my plants, but I could not let wee fishies die for it. Here's hoping ole jaws here will save the day and surprise us all. I will keep you posted. It's been emotional.

This is a beautiful paper weight I found at a flea market a couple of years back. It comes apart and has inside twelve pictures of flowers to represent each month and has a ritual for luck of what to do with each flower. This month for April is Jonquil.

So if you are unsure of what flowers to have in our home this month, this could help!

I'm growing a indoor herb garden!

I am really happy about this as recently, I have been looking into my childhood and would I loved doing. It was always out in the garden, tracing leaves, planting seeds and making perfume bottles from rose petals! (Now I know where the aromatherapy link comes from too!)

I would love to have my own garden but in the past few years I have been moving from place to place, with no patch to call my own. A allotment! you cry, yes, I have cried as I have been on the waiting for a plot in SEVEN allotments for little over a year now! But now I have the next best thing, which is a south facing flat overlooking the seafront which in a former life must have been a conservatory! So I'm very happy with my lot. ( Although I am starting to run out of room, so it's becoming a jungle!) I have always loved herbs and my old friend Susie taught me from a very young age the basics about herbs, although i will never forget my horror when she took a leaf straight from the stem and ate it! ( I was a very impressionable seven year old at the time i might add!:) I even got clay pots to paint and put them in. This is the first layer, I want them colourful on my window! I will keep you up to date with my herb garden and all it's developments very soon! A good friend of mine recently gave me a flower press and hope to use this with my herbs as well!

LOOK AT WHAT WE ADOPTED!


We have new flat mates! The big fella an I had a rare day off together and decided to get one fish. Which turned into two. After we set the tank up and put the fish in (correctly and safely!) The big fella wanted more! So now we have four! They sit on the book shelves, ( not near the window, it would be wrong, like in Finding Nemo or something), so I have no access whatsoever to the books I want to read. Ah well, what they fish want the fish get, it would seem, the big fella gotten quite attached, going so far as to moving the settee to be "closer" to them. I kinda like the book backdrop in a weird can't quite my finger on it sort of way!

There is a dual reason for me wanting the fish. I have a collection of plants which, in the past I confess, have been treated in the most unkind way. Amonst other things, such as my peace lily sitting through construction
and plastering and not been dusted for AGES. So I think I owe them something back. So much so that I have been doing research on it and heard that dirty fish water from untreated tanks (no filters) is the holy fountain of youth for plants. Has anyone heard anything about this? I will experiment with it. I will let you know how I am getting on!

These flowers can grow!

I was being noisy around the flower section of the supermarket, and came across these Lilac hycincths bulbs for 50p! What a find! They are growing well and seem to progress so quickly, you think you can see them opening before your eyes. The smell is beautiful and fills the place with it's spring filled scent. I have never been introduced the flowers before and it is already a firm favourite. I will try and force grow them in the winter!

lovely wee gems in everyday life

I had just come in from buying my herb plants from the local nursery, (more on that in my next post I hope!) and looked up through the window and there was a dolphin leaping through cloudy waves! I was actually looking at it that long, i forgot to take the photo, and it had start to disperse by the time I remembered! But I think you can see what I mean! It's amazing what you find if you only look eh? Hope you are all well!
