Trying to explain myself.

Oh my goodness, I have had the most strangest of times recently. Everything has been topsy truvy in my world at the moment. Hazy, strange and confusing, but I can not put my finger on it. I have a very long list of really silly and strange things that have been going on from the time every technical I owned has broken down completely computer, Printer and phone (which we are having a current nightmare trying to recieve a new one, the first one arrived with no sim, the second with no battery. Third time lucky with next one on its way eh?)

These things do not really bother me as such, these things happen, but it has been the start of silly things occurring. Really silly thing that i have done. Examples. I recently bought myself a beautiful if over expensive address book I had the rare chance to spoil myself with.

I fell in love with beautiful material, paper and font and it was one for life and I made the impulsive decision to buy it for myself and could not wait to show it to big fella. When I eventually got home, I rummaged about my purchases, but it was not there. I had left it somewhere, never to be found again. Lost treasure. After asking all the shops if it had been handed in, big fella was lovely in saying he would but me a new one. Until he saw the price. He proclaimed I was mad to pay that when I can get one in the pound shop. If I win the lottery I will come back for it.

I have left my wages in pockets and done the laundry, lost important paperwork and had password failures on computers at the most awkward of times in work. Then today I waited in a twenty minute queue to get money out of the cash machine only to realise that i forgot my purse, left on the table at home miles away! This is just a snippett of the silliness.

I had just written a very truthful post about these strange couple of weeks of blahness only for me to delete it half way through writing it by mistake! I has written about how my current mood is reflecting on my posts and everything else and it kind of made sense. I felt I was showing something real on the blog for once, showing the real me, opening myself up to you but this has been the way things have been at the moment and all I have to give you now is this post.

I do hope this blahness fades and fast, I and will be back to being me soon. Nothing is wrong yet nothing is right. Just a haziness surrounding me and no pictures on my camera have been taken.I have been walking about like a zombie for the past couple of weeks and I feel I have been put under some strange spell. So I had to write on my blog, just to move out of the haze if only a wee bit.I do read your posts as best as I can, I sometimes just feel that when I write a comment or write on my blog, doesn't come out right, sounds silly, or makes no sense at all. Onwards and upwards as they say. I hope so anyway! Hopefully back to being me soon! All the Best!

Wee Fish in a Huge Pond.....

Today was a very big day in our household as Big fella and I were given this amazing fish tank with stand and all the bits that goes with it, by some lovely relatives of big fellas. We must invite them round for tea in thanks! Such generosity! We are very grateful and hopefully the fish we live with will too! Because today is the day they are moving.

To be honest it was a bit cramped in their old home and they were being a wee bit neglected of late, not being cleaned enough by Big fella, you know, so they certainly deserved it! So I sat back while big fella cleaned the tank, (I had to take photos, this is a big day as I said) and prepared the big move for the fish.

We then filled the fish tank with the ill advised plan of running back and forth with huge pans filled with water. That was eventful to say the least.
Big Fella gently and expert like, popped them all into their new spacious ocean of a home.

After giving them all a wee bit of time to settle in their new spacious home, we went over to see how they were getting along so far. Big Eel came straight over.

" Plush! Woohoo! This is more like it!" he boomed. "I can see your ugly faces now. I thought I was living in a swamp in the other place it was so dirty, we couldnt see a thing!" (Cheek!)

I was just about to grab the fishing net for Big Eel, when I noticed Big Fella Goldfish hiding behind the rocks in the background.

"Big Fella Goldfish? Are you OK?" we asked him.

"No, I am not. I am awfully frightened, this place is so vast, so clean, I never knew what you two looked like before and it's all such a terrible shock....

I am all on my own behind this rock, I am very so unhappy!"
and with that, Big Fella Gold Fish sobbed and retreated behind his rock.
"This is terrible, we must ask the other fish to help him along" said Big Fella.
"Right, let's see what we can do!"

We called after the Wee Blue Striped Triplets, swimming and larking about at the other part of the fish tank.
"Boys, Big Fella Wee Fish is terribly frightened, would you go behind the rock and coax him out, you know he forgets after 15 seconds whenever spoken to by us."

No way! We are going to discover this new mansion! He will be alright, he is just daft! My, I have always wondered what you two looked like! I can see!"
"I am going under the Bridge, weeeeee!" and off they flew and swan around the tank laughing.

"Alright, Alright,I get it!" I cried."I never cleaned out the fish tank! I will clean up this fish tank every once in a while!" Big fella and all the fish nodded in approval.
"Back on to the task at hand please!" I huffed.
Soon enough, we spied our last chance for help, Mad Wee Fish!

Isn't he mad looking?
"Do us two a favour, say simply yes or no to this request and that will do!" I begged him.
"Will you go behind the rock to keep Big Fella Goldfish company as he is a wee bit frightened and overwhelmed in his new home?"

"Yes" And true to his word, he did. Big fella Gold fish was feeling a wee bit better and said he might be coaxed out if we gave him some food. As we were about to leave them, Wee Mad Fish called us back.
"You know, if you just get a plastic bag and rub it on the inside parts of the fish tank, the glass come's up sparkling, you know dear. I saw that on Kim and Aggie's 'How Clean is Your House?' This place is nice, I think we are going to like it here!"
Good, Wee Mad Fish, Good.

Tagged! That means you might be too!

Hello everyone, I am trying to keep up in blogging and have been tagged by the lovely Dede! Thank you Dede!

Here is what to do. Go to your first photo album and pick the tenth picture, post it, and tell the story behind it.Tag five other bloggers. Well as most of you know my computer is "unwell" so I have been using Big fellas. So I can not take credit for this photo but I play by the rules (most of the time, ) so this is the shot! As far as I know this shot was taken down the south of England in Devon and Big fella was on a fishing trip with the lads.

Before he met me of course, I do not allow him to do that anymore.

I am kidding, I wish he would! Hehe! But what a pic! I want to jump right in. Lucky though, if I was to chose the 11th picture it was all dead fish. Ackkk! So there you have it. Goodness knows what my 10th pic in my first album would have been. There are a couple of whoopers in there.

If you would like to play along:

* Mark

* Bagman and Butler

* Lizzie

* Simone

* Rudee

Hope your week it treating you good so far!

Discoveries in my week.

Note to self: Messing about with uploading pictures when you have no time in which to do so, ends up something like the following. Sincere apologies in advance.

1.Fallen flowers from Valentine's down the back of the radiator is a many splendid thing.

2.So splendid, the fairies come to sneak a peek!

3. Realising that working with clay is great but this is gonna need more coats of paint and some tools to make anything good! Do it right Claire!

4. In two minds whether to present this shot glass I used for my paint

brushes to big fella, claiming it was a "blue lagoon" and to drink up! HeeeeHeeeee! Evil cackle! So I did it! But the jig was up. He was watching me the whole time painting and somehow realised the truth and that it wasn't Blue Lagoon. I was a bit deflated after all that. Hmmpp!

5. Well he didn't drink the blue lagoon but he sure did drink in this blue moon picture I gave to him as a wee "Sorry I snapped at you" (but you were getting on my last nerve, ahem.) gift.

I can't even the remember the hoopla, something really silly of course, but I ended up with the clanger punch line, "I work in a nursery, then I come home to the nursery............."

Ouch! God, how I could eat my words. I went too far and caused a heavy atmosphere. Anyway it wasn't me, it was my evil twin sister, gin swigging, smart arse coming out and I hadn't even had a drink yet. This happened before 5pm.

His favourite colour is blue and he loves the moon so I fiddled about on editing and came up with that. (I have yet to tell big fella that I have photo shopped the picture, so shhhhh!! I will let the cat out of the bag tomorrow. I feel terrible, he keeps on saying, "Look how blue it is! This is amazing!" I don't think he would mind, but then again...)

6. I discovered today that I have 100 followers! Wow Weee! Figuring it was Oscars night fast approaching I had a written piece I did ages ago when I started this blog to co inside when I got 100 followers and who to thank.

I'm kidding! To all new followers, firstly welcome to the mad house, and secondly, I was also just kidding about 5pm drinking sessions. Its 5.30pm.

Thank you so much for jumping on board, I can't believe it and I can't wait to meet you! As for the rest of you, thank you so much for all your comments, kind words, thoughts and support. I am very happy to be here with you and so glad I stumbled upon a blog! I didn't have a clue.

Still don't if this post is anything to go by. You don't realise I get serious pins and needles in my leg from sitting reading your blogs! I can't help it but I will endure gladly! Wait, don't cut off my speech, I haven't finished!!

Right, beddy byes for me soon I think. The fairy just left through the window and fluttered away through the night. I am sure she will be back!

Hope all is well in your world!!

Update:
( Just looked on my blog today, and I am back to 99 followers! Haha! Me and my big mouth showing off!! )

I am learning to fly!

Roll up, roll up! The circus is in town!

I am aching. But what a class! The trapeze lessons were a lot harder than I thought. But I did it! I loved it too but I was in for quite a shock. I arrived at the amazing building and sat waiting in anticipation for the class to begin. A trickle of girls walked in all nervous hellos and giggling smiles, not knowing what we had let ourselves in for. We met our instructors and we went up the stairs to the studio. In a large space hung by the ceiling was two trapeze bars and a set of silk ropes.

We started with introductions and warm up which included a game of chase which made us all giggly Benny Hill style scuttling around the room. Then the instructor gave us a demo of what he was going to teach us on the trapeze bar. Every one gasped in awe and wonder as he twirled and somersaulted around the bar upside down with the greatest of ease. I cried out " Oh my God, I thought we were just going to sit on it and swing!!"

Reality bites. It bit even harder when it was my turn. You can't get on the trapeze bar like a horse like I thought, Oh no, you have to hang from your arms and get your feet on the bar that way. Yeah, just think about that for a minute. Trust me I was at that stage a lot longer. At least we were all in the same boat. Exclamations of "Oh, this is hard!" were heard from all of us at one point. We all got on really well and I am looking forward to doing the class with them next week.

But we soon all got into the "Swing" of things (I am sorry I couldn't help it) and we were all hanging perilously by my legs in the "candle pose" at one point. We all made a mental note that if you are upside down, our top follows suit so tucking them into our bottoms was the best option. We were taught all kinds of techniques and poses with beautiful names such as the angel, birds nest, mermaid, star and stag. So much in two hours and my hand hurt with gripping so tight.

My body is paying today and I can barely type! It was scary trying not to fall off, but really cool and I will have to work hard with this one. But then again, there is no harm in that is there? It is hard work and the blisters on the palms of my hands will prove that. But I want to do this, shake things up a bit and fly through the air every Monday evening for the next few weeks!
So with the sun setting with watchful eyes a wee bit later these days, I want time to stand still to go on new adventures in life and learn more skills.

let me look into the future..................
Wait, can you feel dancing in the air

and hear the distance beat of a drum?

Yep, filling up my Tuesdays nights are African drumming lessons which begin next week! I am taking my wee sister with me as she is really good at drumming, has done festivals and street carnivals for years already! So we will be going to the classes very week and getting together for a giggle and catch up.

I am going to take pictures of the trapeze lessons next week, and show you the beautiful building as well!

So my diary is filling up and I am getting out there! " 2010 is the year of fun! Hope all is well in your world!

May I celebrate Valentine's Day with you?

Hello everyone, first of all I would like to say a huge thank you for all your kind wishes and support in my last post, but unfortunately I did not get the job. I am disappointed, but only with myself. But the other lady who did, deserves the role greatly and she told me the next day of terrible financial troubles and this job would help with her woes and stress, which is all the better.
I am a believer in the fate card and I have another paths to walk down in life. I will just have to pick myself back up and dust myself off and carry on. Other opportunities will arise and I will keep searching. All is well.

Well that dreaded day for some has arrived. Valentine's day, or as big fella puts it, " Another commerical excuse to throw money away!" Oh, you old romantic you! I got him a present and card anyway, i would feel bad.
Big fella is not the best at being romantic, but the love is there no less, I know that and that's all that matters to me. I will make him pancakes and good java coffee in the morning and he can have breakfast in bed tomorrow as he has to work all day. Don't tell him now, you will spoil the surprise.

I thought since big fella isn't around, I could maybe celebrate Valentine's day with you.

We could start the day by going for a whirl around a Ferris wheel and sail high above the skies!

and as the day is through we could seek the most beautiful sunset all hazy drowned in love

we can look for the first star in the sky

and wish on the moon and the stars for good luck and love in the up and coming year!

we could conjure up some love spells under the light of the moon and tell of past loves and one's that will stay in our heart's forever

and watch the potion work it's magic inside the bottle!
I hope you have a nice day whether you involve this date in your plans or not. I think I will go for a nice date with my camera somewhere romantic and take some snaps!

All the best and much love to you on Valentine's day!

Monday, 8 February 2010

Magic in every day life!

This is what was laid out before me very early one morning recently when I got up bearly eyed to go to work. A waning moon setting after a night of close watch through the skies, glowing with the birth of the morning sun. It doesn't get much better than that for me. Hope your weekend is treating you good!

Sad days

A light has be extinguished over at Renee's blog today in which I read at her dear friend Sarah's blog. At a time of such loss and sad times, I ask for a show of support just as I have always received and cherished here, especially from dear Renee herself and let her know we are thinking of her. Squeezing your hands in thanks.

Going off the deep end- Wish cast Wednesday

Which story do you wish to live or let go off?

Intriguing question and one that catches my breath a wee bit. The story I wish to let go off is too sad to tell, a messy tangled up ball of threads, but I feel I can never let go of it as it is always there, woven in my life's frayed tapestry. But the newly stitched golden threads of life are begining to shine through more as time goes on and I do manage to pull and uncoil the tangled threads from it. At the best of times at least.

The story I wish to live however is no fairy tale, I feel I am starting to live it! I guess as I grow older in life I realise the term 'life is what you make it', to me at least would be true!
Please, do not get me wrong,I know my life to many would be boring, mundane and ordinary. I rarely venture out into the nightlife this great city has to offer. Big fella works late into the night and I work days, we are passing ships in the night at times and I am very much on my Tod after work. Though we live in a beautiful and enchanting place it is ruddy awkward to get to and my friends live far and we all lead very busy lives.

But this is the way I like to see it.

*I do not go out socialising the night life much. Why? Because I made up for a lifetime of it between the ages of 19-25. Trust me. I have been there, done that, and basically couldn't be bothered with it any longer!
OK then, to be honest, In work I help manage 75 children aged 0 - 5 daily. I rest my case. Not worth the hangover. Ever.

*Big fella and I do not see much of each other. Yeah, this can be a bit of a downer sometimes. He is very hard working, in charge of a shop open every day. But it is not all bad. I see him in the morning, he gets to pop out of work sometimes to give me a lift home and sometimes even a spot of dinner!(I know, how lucky am I!) and he goes to work and I am all alone. And I love it.
I don't know about you but if I can get it, I like my own space from time to time. I am quite a solitary person in a few ways. Even when I was a child I liked being on my own. (Ah, excuse me while I pull that tangled piece of gold thread of my sad story there.). When big fella toot toots his horn and drives away, I love to get to grips with the cleaning gear, organise bills and plan future days and take pictures now and then. Of course, once in a while I read a blog or two!
He is home in about four hours most nights and I have a cup of tea and a big hug for him when he arrives for now everything is done and I can sit with him in peace, tell him how I missed him and chat about our day! He sometimes brings me home sweets! He says he has a lovely time at work because he gets 'a rest'. So it works out nicely for both for now.Oh and Valentines day? He has always been working! I did hint every heavy in advance this year however. We shall see.

I live far away from friends and loved ones. Yeah, but I know every step they take on face book! My word, it is frightening how advanced technology and communication has advanced! I still end up acting like Father Dougal from Father Ted (TV show) when I am having web cam conversation with my friend in Australia saying " Wow, you're really there on screen! This isn't a tape recording or something is it? Is that really you?"

Australia! It's like she's around the corner!

There are so many ways to keep in touch these days. I do of course get up off my arse once in a while to visit friends and we love to have visitors over all the time!

Before you think I am a complete hermit, (I do like a good bit of food shopping, hahaha! I laughed while typing that) Once in a blue moon (literally) I go out for a good ole knees up. Like, this Friday I am heading out into the big bad world of the city centre for a celebratory birthday dinner and night out for a very good friend of mine and, ' bout same size as her' fella. No doubt we will have a barrel of wine with it and why not, after the meal, since their are nothing but bars open we may as well drink some more, dance and have a right laugh. It would be rude not to. It will be like a scene out of Ab Fab. I would obviously be Eddie, with the hair and all, when I really am kinda like her daughter in real life!
Big fella can not make it though. You guessed it, working! That's one that gets me down a bit. But I will enjoy myself, no less, for it is my friends birthday and it is a celebration of life! I just wish big fella was there to enjoy it too.

I wish to take on the bad times and battle on through with the surprises and uproars of life in the best way I can. I know if big fella and I ever had the arrival of the stork with a wrapped up bundle, this would all be a distance memory and I know I not even give this phase of my life a second thought. I probably would never have the time and it wouldn't matter. Our lives will take on a whole new adventure. Who knows what I will look back and think? I know this blog will probably be quite different too! Who knows where life is going to take us? I wish to carry on to the next page on my story of life for I know there are many twists and turns and crossroads to take. But I think it will be alright, for I am learning the skills of the circus soon!

Oh, and step out of the trance! That was a bit deep wasn't it? Wish Cast Wednesday's, it will do it to ya! I am going to go and put the kettle on for big fella, he will be home soon and I will get that stars in my belly feeling!
Bye bye!

Monday, 1 February 2010

I have stars in my belly writing about this!

First of all I have to say, Sarah from Cottage Garden Studios is freaking me out! In the best possible way of course. (If you are not familiar with this blog, link. Do it now. You really must. Never mind all this upcoming tripe.)But of course if you are still with me, (hello?) the reason is this.
Recently, Sarah posted some wonderful pictures of her adorable daughter Nonni, showing off some very nifty Circus acrobatics! Well, I was astounded. Firstly, there is a school of circus? I literally thought you had to run away! Secondly, it brought childhood memories flooding back, regrettably, some I was trying to forget.

But it did remind me of a time when I was a wee girl, my mum introduced me to a whole new set of friends that had entered her life and were the best friends she ever had. These women were street performing artists. Fire eaters, unicyclists, jugglers the list goes on and my face was constantly painted with beautiful flowers, stars and dragonflies!(probably explains why I don't put makeup on much these days!)
I just had the best time! Strong women surrounded me, teaching me not only these gifts, (which I had sadly lost to adulthood) but of nature, the world and wonderful possibilities. I am very proud to tell you that we are very much still in touch and Christmas eve was a blast! I wanted to grab that wee piece of magic back. Yesterday I, by chance clicked on the wrong button on google, (isn't it always the way these tales go) and up popped an application form for trapeze and circus lessons around the corner where I live! No lie!
Needless to say, the application form has been filled in and sent and I await to twirl in the sky with silk ropes and balance my life on my tippy toes on a long piece of string! I can not wait! I might have to apply my own face paint, but no matter! I am going to do it and I am very excited!

Then today Sarah (you still don't know who Sarah is? What are you still doing here? Go and link!) writes on her wonderful quilting bee about what we would like to do to reclaim the magic? Well Sarah, this is it!I feel this is down to you! I so thank you for it! I will let you all know how the twirling silks unravel! I just hope i am not typing about it from a hospital bed!
Cheerio for now!
