Do you see what I see?

Hello everyone! Well, I am sorry about that blimp in my last post. It was typed in a flurry of emotion and Cinner you were right! I was far too busy today to even remember writing about it last night.

Until I went for a snoop on my bloggity blog blog, to find lovely words of uplifting thoughts and kindness. THANK YOU. I am sitting here now thinking, "Sheesh, you are a silly fool, Claire"I dare not read over the post. I am a wee bit embarrassed. you know, like the morning after the night before, with blurry visions of a drunken karaoke session in a dive, and snatching the microphone, while security dragged me to the exit. You know, that kind of feeling.

So let happiness reign on this blog again, and I thought I would rev it up by showing these to you. Well it is the month of November and over here, that means fireworks for Guy Fawkes night. And boy, we were in for a treat. Big fella and I were blessed and lucky enough to have a fireworks displays fill through our windows as we sat in the living room one night. I immediately grabbed my trusty point and shoot and snapped away. Here is watch I captured.
This is what the pictures generally looked like before I got my mucky paws on the crop picture button! No photo shop though, I am too afraid and IT stupid to join forces with yet. It could end up in disaster.
But here's what my wee eyes could see: (By cropping the picture hopefully you will see as well! If not, I am may be going mad.)

Green butterfly fairy

Mermaid fairies floating through a waterfall

The tree of oak folkMidnight scorpion

A deep sea octopusThe star that leads the way
and a fairy looking through my window!
Thank you once again for your lovely thoughts, and for coming here to take the time to read my words! You are brave! I hope all is well in your world!

Can't we all just get along?

Well, howdy do everyone, and I do hope your well.
I normally do my wish casting Wednesday post but this cropped up and I am a bit numb due to it. But of course,as you wish for yourself, I wish for you also!

I have just had a very interesting revelation unfolded to me on dear old facebook. Now, although I have a page there, I do not go on facebook very often at all. This is basically due to the tripe of office politics and what have you, amongst a few people in the workplace. In which, I can not tolerate and simply do not have time for. I do not wish to get involved, thanking you kindly.Especially on facebook.

So, I haven't tread over there in quite a while, until I got a email through facebook from a long lost friend which I was really happy about. After replying to her, I had a read for old times sake to see what everyone was up to. It would seem everyone in work is quite busy preparing themselves for a huge birthday party for a member of staff.
Expect for me. I was not invited. I did not even know about it.
Oh, actually I tell a lie, the puzzle slipped into place when someone earlier asked me to put money in for the cake they were going to get for the party. Which I was not invited to. Yeah. (Though the girls face when she had realised she slipped up, priceless.) I felt recently that something was up, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Everybody acted normal, but yet........
They obviously thought I would not go on facebook to see all the preparations and how everyone could not wait for the big night. It's not really the fact that I was not invited, but it is the fact that they kept it from me. I work very closely with these people very day, and my torrid imagination runs riot when I think of what they are saying as soon as I am out of ear shot. Bloody paranoia!

To be fair, I do not go out much socially with them anyway, they go out drinking, but occasionally I do turn up. There is a simple reason is this. Believe or not, I don't enjoy alcohol very much. Just once in a while. But I really enjoy their company and we always have a good laugh each time I go.

I did feel we were all on friendly working terms and yet not a word was spoken about this party in front of me. To make it worse preparation has been going on for weeks and it is huge! I am pretty mortified to be honest, even putting it on here for you to read. It doesnt sound too good does it? It is quite hurtful in a way, more hurtful than if they talked about the party in front of me.

That's my problem with it. It seems mean and sneaky, yet I know if the people in question were confronted by me about this, they would probably invite me immediately.Out of embarrassment no doubt, not because they wanted me there.

So facebook is not my friend, blogging is. You are. I would love to put photographs of my self and big fella on my blog to put a face to the name, so to speak, but I am so worried someone will find me out and ruin my time here. Because I like it here. I love it here. It's sure better than bloody facebook!

So I have options:

a) Go into work tomorrow and be a huffy cow and be unprofessional to boot and let myself down. (This will never happen as I feel it is THEY who are being unprofessional and letting themselves down, and there is enough of that already!)

b) Simply kill them with kindness and buy the flaming cake myself, gatecrash the party with cake in one hand and empty bottle of gin in the other and present it to the birthday girl by flinging the cake in her face as a party surprise on the big night.

c) Simply let it be water off a ducks back, keep calm, continue as normal and if (forced)to eventually be invited, politely decline for every one's health and safety and wish the lady a Happy birthday when the day arrives and learn some lessons from this. I bet in all the preparations, no body got candles, so I will give these to show no hard feelings.

Well, my head is mumbling c, but my heart is screaming B!!!
I will sort it all out in due course, and there is probably a reasonable explanation for it all. I will just let them know that if they are having a party and only selected people are invited, that is perfectly acceptable.(Also the fact that I am their manager may be a factor.) I realise they may think they are sparing my feelings by their actions.

Just don't be all cloak and dagger about it in work, it can be hurtful for a silly reason like plastering over it on facebook in the first place.
They may have cake, they may even have candles, but do they have fireworks by the window? I think not.

I know where I would rather be.

I am sorry, I had to get that out, I feel better now. I am off to delete my facebook page and practise smiling in the mirror to get ready for Thursday's latest saga in the workplace. I will have to go on facebook to find out about it of course.

Oscar time!

The wonderful Lemon included me when dishing out this fabulous award. It a seven random things tag, you know, say seven random things and tag it to seven other blogs! Thank you very much Lemon. Please, if you have not stopped by her blog, please do, it is beautiful, her award is truly deserved and her play list is divine!

1. I am currently obsessing listening over rat pack tunes, you know, ole blue eyes Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davies junior etc. Lovely, just me sitting here typing, humming away and smiling. Let us sway!

2. When a local newspaper has made it's way to my hands, I automatically go the obituary pages. (You wanted random, you got it. Random and morbid)It came from living with my granny when I was a wee rascal and my task every Saturday was to get the Irish news and read out every body who had died. Sad thing was, she nearly knew all of them. Every time I read out a name she was go "tsk tsk" and blessed herself and erased the person out of her address book with slash through the name and R.I.P beside it.
So it sort of become a habit. I sit some Saturday evening's when big fella will occasionally bring home a paper ,sift through to the deaths page and have a wee cry over the loss of the person I am reading about. Don't worry, Big fella is used to me now.

3. I do not remember my dreams.Ever. This makes me mad and sad.

4. I have the best of intentions but still...................
I want to be the most organised person ever. I have about four diaries with everything written in it, times I have to be in work, appointments and bill paying dates. But yet, I still I'm sitting quietly one minute to hysterical the second, realising that I had not paid the gas bill, forgotten my keys, or slept in for work. (Trust me, right now I am thinking to myself, just look in one of those diaries once and while Claire...)

5. Just found out I have to pay two months rent into the bank next month, yes December, to keep schedule due to a silly situation with my bank. Therefore Christmas is cancelled. Ah well, something will turn out. I will get it sorted. I must write that down in my four diaries for things to do with a bold writing of READ as the title.

6. Big fella and my shifts collide were, when he is in work when I am at home and vice versa. A nice arrangement it is too. I get to hog the computer, (big fella has become addicted to a games website, where he can become a lord and build his own city or what not. He will sit on the computer all day.Like I am right now. Anyway that's not the point, I have bribe him away from the computer with a trail of chocolate biscuits that lead out the front door and smacks him on the arse as it slams shut behind him.) and drink coffee and sing along to music (Sorry neighbours!) to my heart's content. As I said , it is a nice wee arrangement. He will come in later tonight, and I will have a cup of tea and a big hug waiting for him of course.

7. I HAVE LOST MY BAKING MOJO. Yes, people it is true. I have spent so long without a oven, I don't have the inspiration to bake up a storm and possibly burn the house down with the brand new oven. When I didn't have the oven, for two months no less, I salivated over Good housekeeping recipes books and even went on Marta Stewart's blog (God, she's good!)
I read all your wonderful recipes posts and dreamed of a time when a oven with a actual door would present itself to me. Now it actually has, well, I couldn't even bake a scone! And we love scones in our house! Maybe the winter wind will blow some inspiration my way soon! Lets see what the weekend brings!

I pass the award to
1. Sarah
2. Holly
3. Sandra
4. Beth
5. Bella
6. Renee
7. Boo

Ladies, please feel free to do what you wish with this award I just thought you deserved it as your blog is beautiful therefore so are you!

Ta ra!

Oh, I having been sitting here wondering what I had forgotten to do today, when it hit me. My Monday Muse! So sorry it is late but here goes, better late than never as they say, whoever they are!

This is what greets you when you look out our living room window at night in darkness.

Yet when the lights are on, the living room is reflected to look like the living room continues outside the window! (OK, I am also easily amused!)
So that is my muse this week, reflections through the window!

All the best!!

Mish mash post

Hello lads and lassies, I do hope you are well! Lovely to have you here!
Well, this week has been has been a wee bit of a whirl wind as such.
Big fellas wee granny was buried, so it was a reflective time in our home. I lit some candles for her and wrote loving thoughts through the candle smoke. It was lovely send off on the day and she will be remembered fondly and often.

Imagine my surprise and delight to given this wonderful card and gift in the post recently!
It was from a lovely new pen friend named Ashley, who I met through wonder woman Dede! She sent me with a lovely note from her mum, pens and a gorgeous notebook, which believe it or not is just what I LOVE!! Stationary! The gifts came at such a well needed time and put a smile on my face and a glow in my heart!
Now, Ashley is a very talented girl, just look at this piece of art! Isn't it great? She will never know how lovely it was to see this when I opened the card. So much so, that she inspired me to do some new drawings with my new pens, which you can find here. Thank you Ashley and thank you Dede!!

Now, remember the disaster called "I blew the oven up?" Well, it ain't a Aga (sweet dreams) but it is a brand new spanking oven! Praise be! Oh, so fresh and so clean! (Unfortunately it also smells of plastic, a bit got stuck inside from the cover.) I can't wait to get baking baby!!

Injury of the week!
I woke up the other morning to find a big scratch on the side of my eye.
The culprit of this attack? Umm, me I guess. I did it in my, it would seem, very restless sleep.I'm a X men style weirdo or what?
Then again it does reselmble a Harry Potter scar, you never know, Hogwarts could be calling!

There is certain times when the home takes on a glowing light and I know that's when my shadow comes to visit me. Like today.

My shadow does a dance for me.............

and makes me laugh......................
But soon has to say goodbye
because as quick as the sun moves in the sky
The clouds can some times be faster.
I gotta fly now, as it is same situation on the job front, but my luck is in, I am getting some support with my work load!! That's all I need, which I am grateful for.

I received a lovely award which I will have to post next time, it gonna be a 7 random things post. That should be interesting. So as Monday rolls on again, I bid you goodbye, I am going to try and catch up with you all!! Hope all is well in your world!

Sirens and Swashbucklers!

Some time ago,my new friends, the gulls told me a secret to thank me for feeding them some bread. As they flew all around me they sang,

"When the mist over the water, slowly rolls in from the east, the ghostly pirates are celebrating to music, dance and feast!"

One rainy day in November, a mist came over the water, and that, according to gull legend, must mean the pirates were coming tonight!

I waited in the safe cocoon of my room and watched as the mist turn the day into night letting monster and crocodile clouds swallowed the sky

and I made my way down to the sea front.
Magically lights were drawn above me leading the pathway

and suddenly a flash of amazing red hair dived by the sea front.

but I could not see what it was.
Further down the path I saw a shining circle of spinning light,
which seemed to come to life!

and a trail of fairy dust seem to emerge
and a fairy flew rapidly around in front of me

which had started to make me dizzy!
She whispered in my ear,

"Can you hear the mermaids song, look out in the water, it shall not be long!"

I glimpsed a faint whisper of a mermaid diving into the deep through the ghostly mist

and the faint mummer of a song could be heard in the distance.

I saw a mermaid dive high up into the air, laughing with delight

and then the sky was alive with mermaids raising up into the sky singing and diving into the sea.

a mermaid dived through the water, her electric white hair blinding me.

Suddenly she rose up, showing the ghostly glowing pirates behind her, walking over the water.

The surrounded me, and I began to become afraid, until the fairy flew in front of my face and said they were welcoming me!
she circled me with fairy dust to protect my fears
and we all danced all night!

Alas late into the wee hour, it was just too much with all that dancing, wine and song and I made my way home. As I turned around the mist covered the scene like a cloak, taking the music, lights and laughter. I looked up into the silent sky,

to see a shooting star.

and soon the clouds broke to produce morning.
I made my way wearily up the stairs to go to bed as I was partied out, and looked out the window to see the last pirate ship sailing into the circle of light to be sunk into their under water world once again.
as I turned around to head for bed, I noticed this bowl of goodies,

the pirates have left me my very own treasure trove!Oh aren't they a lovely bunch of.......Oh my God? How did they get in here?!?

So, next time your outside, have a good listen next time you feed the birds, you never know what they might tell you!
